Terms and Conditions
 

These Terms and Conditions (“Agreement”) apply to all participants (“Participant”) registering for or attending in-person acting workshops (“Workshops”) hosted by the Los Angeles Conservatory of Acting and Entertainment (LACAE) (“Provider”) in Los Angeles, California.

 

By registering for a Workshop, the Participant agrees to these Terms and Conditions.

 

1. Eligibility

 

Adult Intensives are open to participants age 18 and older.

 

Teen Intensives are for students currently enrolled in high school (grades 8–12) or equivalent, ages 14–18.

 

Proof of age may be required.

2. Registration and Payment

 

Full payment is due at the time of registration unless otherwise stated. Payment secures the participant’s place in the program. Installment plans may be available for Teen Intensives; details will be provided upon request. Payments must be made via [accepted methods, e.g., credit card, ACH, etc.], and all fees are listed in U.S. dollars. Workshop fees are non-transferable unless otherwise stated in writing by LACAE.

3. Refund and Withdrawal Policy

 

**Adult Intensives**: Withdrawal 14 days or more prior to the start of class: 75% refund. Withdrawal 7–13 days before start: 50% refund. Withdrawal fewer than 7 days before start: No refund. No refunds are given once a class has started.

 

**Teen Intensives**: Withdrawal 14 days or more before the start of a session: 75% refund. Withdrawal 1–13 days before: 50% refund. No refunds are available after the first class. If a student is dismissed for disciplinary reasons, no refund will be issued.

 

4. Cancellations by Provider

 

LACAE reserves the right to cancel or reschedule any workshop or class due to low enrollment, instructor illness, or unforeseen circumstances. In the event of cancellation, participants may: Receive a full refund, or Apply the credit toward another LACAE offering within one year.

 

5. Attendance and Conduct

 

Participants are expected to attend all scheduled classes and arrive on time. Unexcused absences may affect participation in final showcases or performances. Respectful conduct toward faculty, staff, and fellow students is required. LACAE reserves the right to remove any participant for disruptive behavior, harassment, or unsafe conduct. No refund will be issued in these cases.

 

6. Safety and Liability

 

LACAE prioritizes the safety and well-being of all participants. Participants (or guardians for teens) must sign a liability waiver and emergency contact form before the first class. LACAE is not responsible for injuries, loss, or damage to personal property during the course. Classes may involve physical movement, scene work, and emotionally intense content. Participation is voluntary, and students are encouraged to speak up if uncomfortable.

 

7. Media Release

 

LACAE may take photographs and videos during classes and events for archival and promotional purposes. By enrolling, participants (or parents/guardians) grant permission for the use of their image unless they opt out in writing prior to the start of the class.

 

8. Teen Participants

 

Teens must be signed in and out by a parent, guardian, or authorized adult unless written permission is granted. LACAE staff do not supervise minors outside of scheduled class time.

 

9. Disclaimers

**Non-Certification**: Completion of a workshop or intensive does not result in a professional certification or guarantee of representation, casting, or employment.

 

**Subjectivity of Training**: Acting, writing, and performance coaching are subjective disciplines. LACAE makes no guarantee of individual results.

 

10. Force Majeure

 

LACAE shall not be liable for any failure to perform due to events beyond its control, including but not limited to natural disasters, government restrictions, pandemics, labor strikes, or transportation disruptions. In such cases, LACAE may reschedule the Workshop or offer a credit for future events. Refunds are not guaranteed under force majeure.

 

11. Governing Law

 

This Agreement shall be governed by the laws of the State of California. Any disputes shall be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Los Angeles County, California.

 

12. Right to Modify

 

LACAE reserves the right to update these terms at any time. Participants will be notified of any significant changes.

By registering for a Workshop, the Participant acknowledges and agrees to these Terms and Conditions in full.
